Los Omares: Merengue unites Venezuela and DR
The Venezuelan duo Los Omares highlights the strong musical connection that merengue has built for decades between Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.

My beautiful people of Bochinche Latino, hold on tight because music keeps uniting borders and we are bringing some good flavor. Venezuelan artists Omar Enrique and Omar Acedo got together to form the duo 'Los Omares', and they are clear that merengue is that indestructible musical bridge between Venezuela and the beautiful Quisqueya.
During their visit to the facilities of the media outlet Listín Diario, the singers highlighted that both countries have maintained a musical exchange for decades. They recalled that Venezuelan territory opened its doors to many Dominican artists throughout the 20th century, making the genre connect strongly with the local public.
Likewise, Omar Enrique already accumulates a career of more than three decades cultivating this rhythm in his homeland. For his part, Omar Acedo praised this consistency, remembering that when his partner decided to bet fully on merengue, this musical style was not at its peak moment compared to other rhythms dominating the scene.
