Dominican pride! MenaRD shines with a nomination at the 2026 Esports Awards
The star Dominican player Saúl Leonardo Mena, known as MenaRD, was nominated for Controller Player of the Year at the 2026 Esports Awards.
My gossip people, we bring good news from the video game world! The talented Dominican Saúl Leonardo Mena, whom we all know as MenaRD, has just received a top-tier nomination in the Esports Controller Player of the Year category of the coveted 2026 Esports Awards.
Just so you see he's no rookie, our local boy and two-time Capcom Cup champion in 2017 and 2023 playing Street Fighter will be competing head-to-head with figures the likes of Dashy, Simp, Rw9, and Arslan Ash. Pure fire on that list of nominees!
Let's remember this isn't the first time our pride of Quisqueya makes waves at these awards, as back in 2023 he already got people talking with recognitions thanks to his master moves in Street Fighter 6 during the EVO event.
It was the Bandits Gaming organization itself, the team the athlete belongs to, that spilled the tea on their social media to invite all the fanbase to back him up. Voting is already open on the awards' official website and you can vote every day until next November 10, 2026. Let's make the country proud!
