To the big screen! Dominican cigar documentary premieres

My lovely people of Bochinche Latino, save the date because Dominican cinema is coming in strong. This coming October 29, 2026, the production titled "Más Allá del Humo" premieres in theaters nationwide.

This cinematic gem is directed by the talented filmmaker Mariel Aponte and produced by Sterlyn Ramírez, the mastermind behind Selene Films.

The project gives us a very intimate look at the traditional cigar making in our land, connecting directly with the roots of our identity and sense of belonging.

But mind you, it's not just about talking about the tobacco industry. The piece focuses on the life stories of Wander, Nirka, and Tony, who share their personal experiences in this cultural journey that promises to captivate us from start to finish.
