Dominican Pride! Yasser Medina launches book on cinema and artificial intelligence
Film critic Yasser Medina publishes the first national essay on artificial intelligence and film theory in Santo Domingo.

My Bochinche Latino people, we are bringing fresh moves straight from the Dominican Republic. Renowned film critic Yasser Medina has just launched his brand-new work titled "AI-Generated Cinema: The Synthetic Image and the Challenges of Film Theory", marking the first essay of its kind in the Caribbean country.
This literary project took off thanks to an international FIPRESCI research call, where our compatriot made it among the twelve finalists worldwide. From there, the author delves into how generative tools are transforming the seventh art, proposing innovative terms like predictive realism and hyperphotogenics through a review of great thinkers.
The text examines short films made with artificial intelligence between 2023 and 2026, along with the case of digital actress Tilly Norwood. For extra details, journalist Ramón Puello Báez has already recommended the reading on his TV show, and the book is available on Amazon in both Spanish and English, in digital and paperback versions.
