Guatemalan Thelma Girón is crowned Miss América Latina del Mundo 2026 in Punta Cana, bringing the crown back to her country after 14 years.
My lovely people, our region shines bright in beauty pageants once again! The talented Thelma Gabriela Girón Recinos left her homeland's name soaring high by being crowned the brand-new Miss América Latina del Mundo 2026. The grand final of this renowned pageant took place on the beautiful stage of the Taíno Theater, located in the Punta Cana area, Dominican Republic.
This edition had a very special flavor, as the competition celebrated its 45 years of history. With this great triumph, the Central American nation achieves its fourth crown in this contest, managing to capture first place after a fourteen-year wait. It is worth noting that the winner, 25 years old and a native of the Guatemalan capital, combines her modeling career with her bilingual studies in Industrial Psychology and her social work with organizations such as the Margarita Tejada Foundation and the Association of the Deaf in Guatemala.
During the gala, which brought together seventeen candidates, the court of honor was made up of the representative from USA Latina as first runner-up, Brazil taking second place, Argentina as third runner-up, and Colombia occupying the fourth position. Likewise, candidates from nations such as France, Perú, Costa Rica, Chile, and the Dominican Republic managed to advance to the semifinalist stage in this thrilling international contest.
